akhada.crafts@mantanex.comIndian clubs, mugdar, and samtola — ancient training implements from the Karlakattai martial tradition, hand-turned for the modern practitioner.
Explore the Collection →

Clubs and mugdar are hand-turned from kiln-dried teak. The samtola is crafted from acacia — each wood chosen for its density, grip, and durability in training.
These tools trace their lineage to the Karlakattai martial art and the akhadas of India, where wrestlers and warriors trained for centuries with club and mace.
Each implement reflects the forms, materials, and training heritage associated with traditional Indian strength practice.
Absolutely exceptional quality. The teak is dense, the finish is smooth, and the balance feels like it was made for my hands. Worth every penny.
Bought the full beginner kit and I have not put them down. The progression from 500g to the 2kg mugdar is perfect. The ebook is a great bonus too.
I have tried several clubs from other brands — nothing compares. The acacia samtola has completely transformed my core training. Ships fast too.
My shoulder mobility has improved dramatically after just 3 weeks. These clubs feel alive in the hand — like real tools, not gym equipment. Incredible craftsmanship.
The 8kg mugdar is a beast. Built for serious training, no compromises. You can feel the tradition in every rotation. Already ordered a second one for a friend.
Beautifully made. The wood grain, the weight distribution — you can tell these are crafted with real intention. Customer service was also fantastic.
